Dental Care For Children | Dentist San Juan Capistrano

Your Child’s Dental Care Timeline

Birth - Six Months

A gentle gum cleaning using a wet washcloth at night. That is all that is required at this age.

Six - Twelve Months

Your child’s first baby tooth should reveal signs of itself. A visit to the pediatric dentist at this age is required. You can use a very soft bristled brush to clean your child’s teeth although you cannot use fluoride toothpaste.

1 - 2 Years Old

Bottle feeding should be stopped by the end of the first year. At two years old, you should take your child to the pediatric office every six months to start a routinely visit to the dentist.

Three - Six Years Old

At this age you can begin to use fluoride toothpaste for your child as it will help fight off cavities and other tooth decay sources; however, they cannot use mouthwash yet.

Seven and older

You should bring your child to the dentist San Juan Capistrano for any abnormal tooth development signs which may require the need to use braces. Your child can use mouthwash that contains fluoride at this point but you will have to instruct them on how to properly use it.

Ten Years and Older

Your child should be properly equipped and educated on the correct techniques used for proper oral hygiene. Your child’s pediatric dentist can help them learn this but it is up to you to make sure they are brushing their teeth at least twice a day.

Testimonials

★★★★★ In my opinion, Teddy Bear Dental is one of the best Dentist Practices in San Juan Capistrano. Dr. Teddy Kim and his staff are the best. They treat you like family and have a genuine interest in your wellbeing. I used to hate going to the dentist because of feeling like I was just another patient. All of which, went away when I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Kim.

★★★★★ I came to Teddy Bear Dental fleeing from my previous dentist, and it was the best decision. Dr. Kim was very professional and caring and listened to my concerns that were not taken into account at my previous doctor. The office was very clean and orderly and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they take not only dental hygiene seriously but cleanliness in general as a big priority.
