More specifically, our teeth move with braces through a light pressure that is constantly applied. The arch wire runs across our teeth horizontally allows for light pressure on our teeth and brackets. Your orthodontist will adjust the arch wire’s location after every visit to ensure that they are constantly adjusting/putting pressure on your teeth. This will in time move your teeth to its aligned and correct place.
Our braces allow us to move the periodontal membrane (the part that holds down the bottom section of our teeth). This allows the tooth to become a little flexible and adjust accordingly.
Dependent on the severity of the crookedness of your child’s teeth, they may require to wear a positioner, retainer, headgear, or rubber bands. All these tools work in unison to adjust a patient’s teeth to the correct spot.
